Start at Overlook Park for an easy loop overlooking Canyon Dam. Or, venture to a moderate hike on the Guadalupe Park South Trail. There’s also the Old Baldy Trail in Old Baldy Park north of Wimberley.
Carved by the flood of 2002, the Canyon Lake Gorge is a real-life classroom where visitors can experience the geology of the Texas Hill Country. The formation of the gorge revealed rocks as old as 111 million years showing fossils and a set of dinosaur tracks.
Enchanted Rock is a massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas with endless views at the top! At the park, you can hike, backpack, rock climb, have a picnic, study nature, or stargaze. Be sure to visit during annual meteor showers for a spectacular view of the skies. Bring extra flashlights!
